Candle Burn Rate
Candle Burn Rate is how fast a candle uses up its wax as it burns.
Think of it this way
A tall candle sits next to a short candle on a flat tray. Both have a flame at the top. Over one hour, each candle shrinks as the wax melts away. How many marks it drops per hour is its burn rate. A fast rate means it shrinks quickly.
Explaining candle burn rate by grade level
A candle flame melts the wax around it. The melted wax moves up the wick and feeds the flame. In a cold room, the flame is smaller and uses wax more slowly. In a warm room, the candle burns through its wax faster.
