Differential Equations
Differential equations is a type of math that describes how things spread, move, or change over time.
Think of it this way
Hot soup cools in a bowl. The temperature drops fast at first, then slower as the soup nears room temperature. A math rule tracks how fast the heat leaves at each moment. That rule — where the rate of change depends on the current state — is a differential equation.
Explaining differential equations by grade level
Think about a drop of food dye in water. It starts in one spot, then slowly spreads out. It moves fast at first, then slows down. Math can describe how fast the color moves at each moment.
