Hydropower
Hydropower is energy made by using the force of moving or falling water to spin a wheel.
Think of it this way
When you pour water from a raised pitcher into a bowl, the falling water has force. That force can push light objects out of the way as it hits them. Hydropower works the same way. Falling water pushes against a wheel placed below it, and that push creates energy.
Explaining hydropower by grade level
When water falls from a high place, it moves fast. That fast water can push a wheel and make it spin. The spinning wheel helps make power. A tall water fall pushes harder than a short one.
