Maternal Diet and Infant Health
Maternal Diet and Infant Health is the study of how what a mother eats shapes her baby's growth and wellness.
Think of it this way
A mixing bowl sits on a counter. You add flour, eggs, and oil to bake a cake. The cake can only use what you put in the bowl. A baby grows the same way — it builds its body from the food the mother eats.
Explaining maternal diet and infant health by grade level
A mother's food helps her baby grow strong. What she eats goes to the baby too. If a mother eats eggs, her baby may or may not react to eggs later. Doctors study this to help keep babies well.
