Motivation and Persistence is what drives you to start a task and keep going when it gets hard.
Think of it this way
A pot of soup sits on the stove, empty at the start. Each cup of broth you pour in fills it a little more. Some cups are easy to pour; others feel heavy. You keep pouring because the level rises with each one.

Think about solving a hard puzzle. You want to finish it, so you keep trying. Sometimes you slow down but you do not quit. What keeps you going is how much you care about the goal.
