pH and Aquatic Life
pH and Aquatic Life is the study of how acid levels in water affect animals living there.
Think of it this way
A glass bowl holds water with small balls floating at the top. You add a few drops of lemon juice, and the water turns slightly cloudy. The balls start to sink as the water changes around them. Add more drops, and all the balls drop to the bottom of the bowl.
Explaining ph and aquatic life by grade level
Water can be a little sour like lemon juice, or plain like tap water. Tadpoles need plain, clean water to stay well. In one test, tadpoles in sour water got sick faster. The ones in normal water lived much longer.
