Pulse Pressure

Pulse Pressure is the gap between your highest and lowest blood pressure readings.

Think of it this way

A pot of water on the stove sits at a low simmer, that low level is your diastolic pressure. When the burner flares up, the water boils hard and rises to its high point, that peak is your systolic pressure. Pulse pressure is the gap between those two water levels: how far the water rises and falls with each burst of heat.

Explaining pulse pressure by grade level

Each time your heart beats, it pushes blood hard. Then it rests for a split moment before the next beat. The big push makes a high number. The rest makes a low number, and the gap between them is your pulse pressure.
