Radio Waves
Radio waves are signals that travel through the air to carry sound and data between devices.
Think of it this way
A TV remote sends a hidden beam across the room to the TV. You cannot see it, but the TV picks it up and reacts. Radio waves work the same way, just over much more space. A tower sends out waves, and your car radio picks them up.
Explaining radio waves by grade level
Turn on a radio in your house. The music plays even though the station is far away. The station sends out waves you cannot see or feel. Your radio catches those waves and turns them back into sound you can hear.
