Second Language Acquisition
Second Language Acquisition is how people learn to speak and understand a new language.
Think of it this way
A new jar of spice sits on the shelf next to jars you already know. At first the label looks odd and you reach for the wrong jar. Over time you smell it, use it, and your hand goes right to it. That slow build of habit is how a new language takes root in the brain.
Explaining second language acquisition by grade level
Some people learn a new language. You hear new words and try to say them. You start with easy words like "hello." Over time you learn more words. Young children often learn new languages fast. Practice every day helps a lot.
