Skeletal Muscle Adaptation
Skeletal Muscle Adaptation is how muscles change their size and strength when you use them in new ways.
Think of it this way
A shelf in the kitchen holds a small stack of flat boards. Each week you add more boards, and the stack grows taller and heavier. Over time, the shelf itself gets thicker to hold the extra weight. Your muscles adapt the same way — the more you load them, the thicker and stronger they grow.
Explaining skeletal muscle adaptation by grade level
Try to hold a book with your arm out straight. Your arm gets tired fast. If you did this every day, your arm would get stronger. That is how your muscles change when you use them more.
