Temperature and Performance

Temperature and Performance | Science Fair Projects | STEM Projects
Does the temperature of the classroom affect how well students do on tests? Let's find out! In this experiment, students will take tests in classrooms with different temperatures to see if their performance is affected.

The hypothesis is that students will perform better in tests when the classroom is at a temperature of 20°C.

Method & Materials

You will have 25 students take three sets of tests of equal difficulty in an air-conditioned classroom. The temperature of the classroom will be changed to 20°C, 25°C, and 30°C.
You will need 25 students, three 800 word essays of equal difficulty, three sets of test papers of equal difficulty, an air-conditioned classroom, an English teacher, a clock or watch, and a thermometer to measure the temperature of the classroom.

The results showed that the students who scored the highest test marks were in the classroom at room temperature 25°C.

Why do this project?

This science project is interesting because it shows how the temperature of the classroom can affect the performance of students on tests.

Also Consider

Variations of this experiment could include comparing how the temperature affects males and females differently, or testing different temperatures to see if there is an optimal temperature for student performance.
