Acoustic Resonance
Acoustic resonance is when a sound makes an object vibrate strongly because the sound matches its natural pitch.
Think of it this way
A wine glass full of water sits on a table. Tap it gently and it rings at one steady pitch. Sing that same pitch close to the glass, and the glass shakes back strongly. Other pitches pass by with no effect; only the matching one makes the glass respond.
Explaining acoustic resonance by grade level
Tap a box and hear a sound. The box shakes at its own pitch. Some sounds make the box shake more. A speaker box picks the best pitch for its size.
