Chemical Vapor Deposition
Chemical Vapor Deposition is a way to grow thin layers of solid material from hot gas.
Think of it this way
Steam rising from a hot pan can leave a thin film on a cold window above the stove. The steam cools and turns solid right on the glass. CVD works the same way. Hot gas flows over a surface and leaves a thin solid layer as it cools.
Explaining chemical vapor deposition by grade level
Think of hot gas floating inside an oven. When the gas touches a surface, it leaves a thin coat behind. It works like fog on a cold mirror. Each layer is so thin you need a tool to see it.
