Codominance

Codominance is when both parents' traits show up fully at the same time in their offspring.

Think of it this way

A jar holds two types of marbles — red ones and white ones — mixed together so both colors show at once. Neither color hides or blends into the other. In codominance, a child gets one trait from each parent, and both traits appear fully side by side. Like the red and white marbles, both show up at the same time in the same space.

Explaining codominance by grade level

A dragon has two parents. One parent has red spots. The other has blue spots. The baby shows both red and blue spots on its skin.
