Depth Perception
Depth perception is your brain's way of judging how far away things are.
Think of it this way
When you reach into a cabinet for a glass, your eyes see two slightly different views of the same shelf. Your brain combines those two views to calculate which glass is closer and which is farther back. This is the same process that lets you grab the right jar without knocking everything over. Two eyes, two views, one accurate sense of distance.
Explaining depth perception by grade level
Close one eye and reach for a cup. It is hard to grab. Now use both eyes. Your brain uses two eyes to tell how far things are.
