Hyperactivity
Hyperactivity is when a person moves, fidgets, or acts restless much more than usual.
Think of it this way
A pot of water sits on a hot stove. The water near the bottom heats up and bounces around fast. It bumps and rises to the top, then falls back down. The whole pot fills with water moving in quick, restless loops.
Explaining hyperactivity by grade level
Some foods have dyes that give them bright colors. After eating these dyes, some people feel wiggly and find it hard to sit still. Their bodies want to move and move. That extra moving is what we call being hyper.
