Operant Conditioning is when an animal learns to repeat actions that lead to a reward.

Think of it this way

A jar of cookies sits on a kitchen counter next to a red box. Each time you press the lid of the red box, a cookie pops up from the jar. At first you press the lid by accident. But once you see the cookie appear, you press it on purpose every time.
