RAM
RAM is your computer's short-term memory, holding whatever it needs right now so it works fast.
Think of it this way
A kitchen counter holds the ingredients you need right now while you cook. You pull out the flour, eggs, and butter — just what this recipe needs. When dinner is done, you clear the counter for the next meal. RAM works the same way: it holds only what your computer needs right now, then clears out when the task is done.
Explaining ram by grade level
Your computer has a work space, like a desk. RAM is that desk. A bigger desk holds more things at once. That helps your computer do tasks without slowing down.
