Sound Frequency
Sound frequency is how fast something vibrates to make a high or low sound.
Think of it this way
A bowl of water sits on a counter. When you tap the rim slowly, big ripples spread across the surface — that is low frequency. When you tap fast, small ripples crowd the water — that is high frequency. The speed of your tapping sets how high or low the sound is.
Explaining sound frequency by grade level
When you tap a big speaker box, you hear deep low sounds. When you tap a small one, the sounds are higher. That is because the air moves in different ways inside each box. Fast shaking makes high sounds, and slow shaking makes low sounds.
