Stellar Classification
Stellar Classification is how we sort stars by their color and heat.
Think of it this way
A kitchen stovetop has burners set to different heat levels. The coolest burner glows deep red. The hottest burns bright blue-white. Scientists sort stars the same way — by color and heat, from cool red to hot blue.
Explaining stellar classification by grade level
Stars are not all the same color. Some look red, some look white, and some look blue. A red star is cooler than a blue star. We can sort stars into groups by their color.
